How does a filter press work

How does a filter press work? A filter press squeezes the water out of quarry silt so you can reuse the water and get rid of the solids as a dry, stackable cake. How it works on a quarry site: Thicken. Dirty water from the wash plant goes into a thickener. Clean water goes back to the plant, and the silt settles to the bottom. Press. The thickened silt is pumped at high pressure into a pack of plates lined with filter cloth. Recover water. The pressure forces the remaining water through the cloth and back into your process. Discharge. At the end of the cycle the plates open and a solid cake drops out, ready for landfill or reuse as fill. Talk to the Equip2 team about water treatment for your site
